Not a bad approximationSince Pilsners are lagers, and this kit is an ale (all the Brew House kits use ale yeast, as far as I know), it's not 100% true-to-style. I ran in to a bit of trouble, as this was my first stab at homebrewing, but that was self-inflicted (not great temperature management). As a note, if you make this and the fermentation stops early, try adding a pouch of Nottingham yeast. The results might surprise you! Oh, and I found it did nicely with 110 g of priming sugar, instead of the full 190. |

A very good lighter PilsnerAlthough I like this kit, it is not an accurate Czech Pilsner, so think German style. The yeast is a generic ale yeast, I think, and that is part of the problem. The other is that it simply isn't strong enough. Probably a good kit to make at below 5 gallons, however. Overall this is a good drinkable beer that gives you the freshness that only a wort kit can, and it is pleasing to the palate. Has an element of pineapple which I can appreciate. Had a Livotel the night before, and these are not really comparable. |

I primary fermented for 3 weeks, and conditioned for 3 weeks. Fermentation temperatures were too high (78F), but it still came out very nicely. Will make again. | |||

A must! These kits are the most easiest way of home-brewing.... you simply can't miss it! And this one is a real wonder, I did it exactly as the instructions and had a great result! Whatch out for fermentation spill, as the yeast seems fairly active in the first days... |

Awesome Beer!!I have made aprox 8 different Brewhouse kits and I have to say that this is my new favorite. About 3 weeks in the bottle and it is incredible. Just the right amount of hoppy bitterness, while being crisp & clean. Serve with a frosted mug.... YUM!! Aprox 1/4 cup extra sugar used for bottle conditioning. Will definitly be making more!! |
